This Is Commitment

Six months ago or so, I reconnected with my former squadron commander from the 31st Logistics Readiness Squadron at Aviano Air Base in Italy. Through messages back and forth, I learned he had done something incredible for his family. Here we talk about commitment to our children, no matter what, and what he did demonstrated that commitment in an awesome way I wanted you all to know about.

When I joined the Air Force, they were busy changing up what it really meant to be an Airman in the post-DESERT STORM wartime environment. They settled on three new core values: “Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.” Commitment, or the need for it is inherent in these characteristics and traits. It is obvious to me that my former commander still embodies and lives by those core values… and I’d never expect anything less.

He has also started a home business I wanted him to tell us about. Ordinarily, I would not promote a business like this, but I have personally worked for Roger and know him to be an excellent manager and leader, and the company he’s representing checks out on every metric I put it through. Finally, it might be a good fit for someone looking to leave the rat race. As with ANY business, like parenting, if you expect to be successful, your commitment better be deep!

If you would like to contact Roger, you can email him at rsorrell24@gmail.com.

I hope you enjoy the interview. Please share your thoughts in the comments!
